Secretary of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee Luong Ngoc Binh receives Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong

Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Minister - Chairman of the Government Office and other central officials.

On the side of provincial leader, there were Mr. Luong Ngoc Binh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Hoang Dang Quang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of related departments and branches.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Tran Bac Ha, Chairman of Board of Directors of the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV); Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Investors in Laos (AVIL) together with other associations and businesses from Vietnam and Laos.

On behalf of provincial leader, Secretary of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee delivered his speech to welcome the working visit of Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong and his top-ranking delegation to Quang Binh province. He stressed cooperative relationship between Quang Binh and Lao provinces, especially the provinces sharing the same borders, such as Khammouane and Savannakhet provinces. Over the past time, two sides have boosted cooperation in politics, national defence – security, economics and society. He expressed his hope that this visit of Lao Prime Minister will promote friendly relationship between the two countries in general, Quang Binh and Khammouane, Savannakhet in particular through the project of construction of a bonded warehouse and oil pipeline systems from Hon La port to Khammouane province and the project of National Highway 9B.

Secretary of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee also believed that authorities of Quang Binh province and Khammouane, Savannakhet provinces will uphold friendly tradition between the two countries and strengthen cooperation and socio-economic development between provinces in the forthcoming time.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee also briefly informed the Lao leader about the local socio-economic situation and cooperation between Quang Binh and Lao provinces of Khammouane and Savannakhet. Concretely, in the past five years, two sides have regularly exchanged information through working visits, closely coordinated to defend border security, completed border marker planting, supported thousands of billion to develop education and health, created favorable conditions for the Lao Petro Company to carry out the project of construction of a bonded warehouse and oil pipeline systems from Hon La port to Khammouane province.

Speaking at the meeting, Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong valued the considerable socio-economic progress attained by Dong Hoi in particular and Quang Binh in general. On behalf of the Party, State and Government of Laos, Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong wished Quang Binh would reap greater achievements in socio-economic development, especially in development of tourism, industry and agriculture, and hoped it would continue sharing experience and boosting collaboration with Lao localities, contributing to the time-tested friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive affiliation between the two countries.

In the framework of the visit to Quang Binh province, Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong and his delegation paid a visit to Hon La Industrial Park and went on an inspection tour to the location which is expected to build a bonded warehouse of the Lao Petro Company; and offered incense to the grave of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Vung Chua, Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district.
