The congress was attended by Mr. Vu Mao, Chairman of the Central Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association; major general Nguyen Van Hieu, Deputy Chief of the Military Zone 4.

On the side of Quang Binh province, there were Mr. Hoang Dang Quang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Tu Hong Son, Director of the Provincial Public Security Department, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Luong Ngoc Binh, former Secretary of the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Quang Binh province.

The Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Quang Binh province was established according to Decision No.1335/QD-UBND dated April 22nd of the Provincial People's Committee.

The association's goals are to strengthen the mutual understanding, the multi-faceted cooperation, friendship and solidarity between Vietnamese people in general, Quang Binh people in particular and Cambodian people.

It also aims to mobilize all resources to promote socio-economic development, take advantage of supports and assistances of international friends to create favorable conditions for the cause of industrialization and modernization of the nation.

Speaking at the congress, Secretary of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Dang Quang stressed the traditional friendship relation and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in the past time.

The Secretary desired the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Quang Binh province would contribute to expanding and further developing the relationship between Quang Binh and localities of Cambodia in the tendency of integration.

In the coming time, the Secretary asked all levels of the Party, authorities and unions to have a close collaboration in implementing the association's operations, strengthen leaderships and create favorable conditions for the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Quang Binh to improve the quality of foreign affairs.

The congress elected 11 members to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Quang Binh province for the 2017-2022 term.
