Quang Binh is a province in Central Vietnam famous for its many scenic spots, historical relics and especially its rich and diverse cuisine. Among those, Banh Loc (Filter Tapioca cake) and Banh Nam ( Nam cake ) are 2 rustic dishes, familiar but no less attractive, which have become specialties of this land.
Filter Tapioca Cake
Filter Tapioca Cake is one of the most popular Quang Binh specialties. This type of cake is made from easy to find ingredients. Quang Binh filter tapioca cake is made from tapioca flour, the filling is made from shrimp, meat, wood ear mushrooms and bamboo shoots depending on taste.
Quang Binh Filter Tapioca cake has a delicious and unique flavor that makes anyone who eats it once remember it forever. There are 3 popular types of cakes: leaf filter tapioca, boiled filter tapioca and fried filter tapioca. Each type has its unique flavor and different processing methods.

Leaf Filter Tapioca Cake
In general, the leaf filter tapioca cake is no different from the leaf tapioca cake. The only difference is that it is wrapped in banana leaves, so when steamed, the cake will have a unique aroma. The filling is made from fresh shrimp, pork minced and fully marinated with spices and roasted until rich.

Nam cake is good or bad depends on the dough kneading technique. The dough must be kneaded, spread thinly, and spread evenly so that it is very soft and smooth.
