On the side of the province, there was comrade Luong Ngoc Binh, temporary Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vice-chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai and leader of relevant branches.

On behalf of provincial leader, comrade Luong Ngoc Binh reported natural condition, socio-economic situation; total losses and work of repairing the consequence caused by the Storm No.2 and women's work in Quang Binh province to the Vice-President and her mission.

The flooding caused by Storm No.2 killed 16 people, submerged 68 communes, collapsed and damaged 3,655 houses, submerged 7,175.5 hectare of rice, etc. Estimated cost of the total damage in the province set at over VND 810 billion.

As soon as the flood had gone away, the provincial leaders directed all forces to repair the consequence caused by Storm No.2, resume the life and production for local people as soon as possible, visit and provide with money to the families of the dead or wounded people, rebuild house for residents and not to happen epidemic disease.

At the working session, the Vice-President also listened the Youth Union, Department of Labour and Social Affairs and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Binh province to report the implementation of regulations and policies for provincial women.

Closing the working session, the Vice-President praised the great efforts of the Party Committee and Quang Binh people. She asked the province to bring into play the available potentialities and strengths, such as the coastal line of 116 km, Phong Nha - Ke Bang World Natural Heritage, to develop economy and society, promote tourism development. On the other hand, the province need to try to repair the consequence caused by Storm No.2, resume the life for flood-hit people.

The Vice-President also highly appreciated the provincial women's work in the past time and asked the provincial Party Committee and authority need pay much attention to women's work, especially training female officials, vocational training for women; caring and creating favorable condition to help women do business. Finally, the Vice-President stressed that the province need to implement well the policies of the Party and State for women to promote the women's creativeness in the province's socio-economic development.
