Attending the meeting were representatives of departments and branches, districts and city in the whole province.

In the past five years (2003-2007), together with the efforts of all levels and branches and support of organizations, enterprises and donators inside and outside province, the Plan No.544/KH-UB of the Provincial People's Committee on deleting thatched cottages for poor people achieved great results, contributing to stabilizing and improving the life for poor households. Concretely, 8,363 thatched cottages were deleted for poor households in whole province from 2003 to 2007, in which 1,798 cottages in 2003, 1,701 in 2004, 2,217 in 2005, 2,049 in 2006 and 607 in 2007. The total mobilized capital for deleting thatched cottages for poor households was VND 68,957.246 million, in which: provincial level: VND 9,160 million, district level: VND 7,764 million, Program 134: VND 22,286 million, Fund for poor people at all levels: VND 8,169 million, enterprises and organizations: VND 8,015.106 million and contributions of poor people and their relatives: VND 13,546.140 million.

According to the result of survey, as of early 2008, there are still more than 4,195 temporary houses in the whole province, mainly located in mountainous and remote communes, ethnic minority people and in three flood-prone districts. Therefore, the Program's objective till 2010 is to completely delete temporary houses for poor households, concretely: 1,676 houses in 2008, 1,555 in 2009 and 946 in 2010.

In order to achieve above targets, all levels and branches need to implement some tasks and main solutions. Concretely, strengthen the leading and direction of executive committees of the Party, management of authorities, cooperation between departments, branches and organizations; promote work of propaganda, education and raising the solidarity tradition in community; continuously launch campaigns to respond the Program for deleting temporary houses for poor households. i.e

In this occasion, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee granted Certificate of Merit to 13 collectives and 7 individuals for their excellent achievements in deleting thatched cottages for poor households in the 2003 - 2007 period.
