A meeting to discuss and check some contents to prepare for activities on occasion of 50th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Road's establishment - Traditional day of Truong Son soldiers

(Quang Binh Website) - In the morning of May 11 2009, the Provincial Steering Committee held a meeting to discuss and check some contents to prepare for the activities to mark the 50th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Road's establishment - Traditional day of Truong Son soldiers (May 19 1959 - 2009). Vice-chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chief of the Steering Committee Tran Cong Thuat presided over the meeting.

Attending the meeting was members of the Provincial Steering Committee and representative of related units and localities.

At the meeting, Director of the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism Le Hung Phi approved the plan for organizing the anniversary and assigned specific task to related departments, units and localities. Then, the related units and localities reported on the plan to prepare for the anniversary and put forth some difficulties in the implementation progress. Under the plan, the Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will jointly organize the 50th anniversary of the Legendary Truong Son Trail with the theme "The Legend of a Trail" on the evening of May 16 at Son Trach commune, Bo Trach district. The programme will be broadcast live on VTV3 channels of the Vietnam Television and on radio waves of the Radio the Voice of Vietnam.

Giving a closing speech, Province Vice-chairman Tran Cong Thuat stressed that in the past time, the province coordinated with related agencies and units to successfully organize some activities like: TV live programme "Truong Son Trail - the way we go" and a traditional meeting with the theme "Living Forever with Age 20"... In the coming time, he asked localities and units have to closely follow the plan to well implement the activities to mark the 50th anniversary of Legendary Truong Son Trail.
