At the working, Standing Vice-chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai reported on the province’s socio-economic situation in the first ten months of 2009 as well as results of industrial production and commercial activities in the past time. For industrial production, the total industrial production value in the first ten months of 2009 was VND2,502.9 billion, achieved 79.0% of the yearly plan, increased by 17.6% against the same period, of which State economy achieved VND1,553.9 billion, increased by 21.5%; non-State economy achieved VND918.6 billion, increased by 12.8%, foreign-invested economy achieved VND30.3 billion, decreased by 26.9% against the same period; the total retail sales of goods and turnovers in the first ten months was VND5,831.8 billion, achieved 89.72% of the plan and increased by 18.17% against the same period. Besides, Quang Binh also paid attention to investment promotion in such advantaged sectors as industry, tourism and trade; created a favorable environment and invested in building system of infrastructure in industrial parks; strengthened the coordination with neighboring provinces to organize fairs and exhibitions in order to introduce and popularize the opportunities of cooperation as well as exchange experience and sign commercial contracts.

Addressing the working, Industry and Trade Ministry Vu Huy Hoang highly appraised socio-economic achievements that the province obtained in the past time and underlined that the province need to focus on improving effectiveness of industrial production and commercial activities; strengthening foreign investment promotion, striving to completing the planned targets in the year 2009 and 2010.
