Vietnam Building Materials Limited Company and Hefei Cement Research and Design Institute: signs a EPC contract for Quang Phuc Cement Plant Project

(Quang Binh Website) – On the afternoon of June 23 2010, the Vietnam Building Materials Limited Company and the Hefei Cement Research and Design Institute (HCRDI) held a signing ceremony of EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contract for Quang Phuc Cement Plant Project.

Mr Nguyen Huu Hoai, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr Le Van Toi, Head of the Materials Department, Ministry of Construction; Mr Huynh Ba Thang Long, President of HB Group; Mr Tu Ninh, Head of the HCRDI together with representatives of related units attended the signing ceremony.

At the signing ceremony, two sides inked a EPC contract for Quang Phuc Cement Plant Project with total value of over 180 million USD. Under the contract, HCRDI will provide design, equipment, technical materials, technical service, construction, installment, trial operation and warranty for the synchronous clinker production plant with a warranty capacity of 5.000 tonnes of clinker CPC50 a day (a designed capacity of 5.500 tonnes a day), equivalent to about 1.6 million tonnes clinker a year and the synchronous cement grind station with a capacity of 2.200.000 tonnes of cement PCB40 a year. The progress for implementing the contract is estimated at 22 months for the clinker plant and 17 months for the cement grind station.

The Quang Phuc Cement Plant Project is in the strategic orientation for cement industrial development of Quang Binh province in particular and the Vietnam’s cement industrial development plan in general. Once it is operational, the project will contribute to bring Quang Binh province to become one of the biggest-cement production provinces of the country, promote the province’s economic structure shift and industrial development, regulation of supply and demand balance, market stabilization and cement export.

At the signing ceremony, representatives of two sides discussed and proposed some solutions so that the project is carried out effectively in the next time.
