Report of the rubber development plan of Quang Binh province until 2015 and vision till 2020

(Quang Binh Website) - On April 1, the provincial People's Committee held a meeting to hear the report of the rubber development plan of Quang Binh province until 2015 and vision till 2020. Standing Vice-chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang presided over the meeting.

The plan has a toal area of 18,397.7 ha, covering 48 communes, wards and townlets of Quang Binh province with a total investment of about VND1,300 billion. The plan analysed and assessed the actual state of rubber development and the shortcomings in production and business in the past time, and forecast situation of rubber development and the overall plan for rubber development of Quang Binh province until 2015 and vision till 2020. The plan's objective by the year 2015 strives to achieve over 18,000 ha of rubber area in the province; put into exploitation of 10,000 ha of rubber area and achieve 11,000 tons of dry rubber latex; reach over VND368 billion of turnover and contribute VND73 billion to budget. By the year 2020, it is expected to reach 20,000 ha of rubber area; put into exploitation of 15,000 ha of rubber area and reach 19,500 tons of dry rubber area; reach VND653 billion of turnover; contribute VND130 billion to budget and create stable jobs for more than 12,000 labourers.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice-chairman Nguyen Xuan Quang acknowledged the efforts made by consultative units in building up the rubber development plan of Quang Binh province until 2015 and vision till 2020 and asked them to pay attention to using figures correctly, supplementing the environment effect assessment and carrying out a practical survey of land fund. The comrade also request consultative units to acquire opinions of departments and localities to adjust and complete the rubber development plan to submit to competent levels for the approval.
