Quang Binh: granted 2,000 tons of rice in food aid to drought-hit farmers in between-crop period of 2011
(Quang Binh Website) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on May 17 signed a decision granting 11,657 tons of rice from the national reserve as relief aid to six provinces of Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Gia Lai to help drought-hit farmers who are suffering in the period between two crops. Accordingly, Quang Binh province is given 2,000 tons of rice.
Prime Minister ordered the people’s committees of six provinces should ensure the relief reaches the right beneficiaries and report to the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of the results for implementation.
It is known that this is the second time in May Prime Minister has decided to support rice in food aid for localities.
