Concretely, Quang Binh province will strive to reach the average GDP growth rate of 12-13%/year in the 2011-2020 period; and the average per-capita GDP of 28-30 million VND (around USD 1,400-1,600) by 2015 and around 70-72 million VND (around USD3,500-3,700) by 2020.
Besides, Quang Binh strives to gain the average industrial growth rate of 20-21% in the 2011-2020 period. The objectives by 2020 are that industry-handicrafts accounted for 40-41% of GDP and 12.2% of social laborers are provided stable jobs.
Develop tourism to become a key economic sector
The plan shows that Quang Binh need to focus on making full use of potential and strength of Phong Nha - Ke Bang world's natural heritage; diversifying the forms of tourism to turn it into a spearhead economic sector; striving to attract about 1.1-1.2 million tourists, of which 60-70 thousand of international arrivals to Quang Binh by 2015 and 1.4-1.5 million tourists, of which 90-100 thousand of international arrivals to Quang Binh by 2020.
The master plan also said that the province gradually opens tourist centers like Phong Nha - Ke Bang and Da Nhay (Bo Trach); Vung Chua - Yen Island (Quang Trach); Dong Hoi with Chua Non (Non Pagoda), Than Dinh Mountain, Bang Spring, Nguyen Huu Canh royal tombs and temple, memorial house of General Vo Nguyen Giap, Sen pond and Hai Ninh beach, in association with domestic and international tourist routes.
By 2020, basically complete transport infrastructures towards modernization
Quang Binh strives to basically complete construction of transport infrastructures towards modernization by 2020. Concretely, the province will coordinate with the Ministry of Transport to build road and rail routes through the province; upgrade and expand the national road No.12A and 1A, Ho Chi Minh road and border patrol road; build Hon La port according to the master plan for Vietnam seaport system development; upgrade Dong Hoi airport to meet the people's demand.
As for transport projects under the local management, the province will take the initiative in mapping out the plan and allocating human resources to comprehensively build the routes like coastal road from Canh Duong to Ngu Thuy, road connecting the Tuyen Hoa Cement Industrial Park and Hon La Port; the provincial road No.559, 558, 561, 562, 563, 564 and 565.
Upgrade and improve to quickly complete irrigational system of Phu Vinh, Vuc Tron, An Ma, Rao Da, Cam Ly, My Trung, Song Thai, Vuc Sanh, Tien Lang, Thac Chuoi, Van Tien and Vuc Noi; reinforce and build system of dykes to prevent erosion and reduce heavy damages caused by natural calamity.
