Open a new tourist route in Phong Nha - Ke Bang

This new discovery route has a total length of 9 km (4.5 km for exit and 4.5 km for entry). Travelers will be taken to the start point at the Km15 or Km18 on West branch of the Ho Chi Minh road. Then travelers will walk through the hills to reach the Dau rai ancient, then crossing the “Sky gate”, follow the Tien (fairy) springs to explore the 500m depths of Hang nuoc lan (Water Diving cave) – the backdoor of Hang toi (the dark cave).
Next, travelers will travel between primary forests to the Survival valley of 2,000 ha in width, surrounded by the incredibly spectacular steep limestone mountains. In the middle of the valley is Hang Thuy Cung (Aquarium palace cave) with exotic color of blue water. Here, travelers will explore the mysterious Aquarium palace cave which is located in the heart of the limestone between the jungles.
This new route will be expected to run in May of 2013.
Opening this new discovery route will be expected to promote Quang Binh tourism to develop, diversify many forms of tourism, attract many domestic and foreign tourists to Quang Binh; increase awareness of local community of conservation and preservation of global values of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, create stable jobs and improve income for local laborers, contributing to promote socio-economic development of the province.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Tran Tien Dung agreed on the opening of this new discovery route and asked the management board of the park to attach special importance to heritage conservation, preservation of environmental resources, improving skills and training human resources.
