USD7.3 million for the protection forests restoration and sustainable management project

JICA2 project has a total investment of over USD7.3 million, of which loan capital from Japanesses government of nearly USD5.9 million and corresponding capital of over USD1.4 million.
The project is carried out in communes of Quang Luu, Quang Kim, Quang Hop and Quang Thach (Quang Trach district) and Truong Son and Truong Xuan (Quang Ninh district). Duration for the project is expected from 2012 to 2021.
The project's objective is to manage sustainable riverhead protection forest in six mountainous communes of Quang Trach and Quang Ninh districts; to restore and preserve biodiversity as well as eliminate hunger and reduce poverty in the communes in the project areas.
In 2013, the project will focus on clearance of landmines and toxic chemicals with an area of 1,600 ha; forest fire prevention and control; development of protection forest and forest infrastructure.
At the working session, Vice Chairman Tran Van Tuan assigned specific tasks to relevant departments to effectively implement the JICA2 project in the province.
