IFAD supports USD33million for poor households in Quang Binh and Ha Tinh

(Quang Binh Website) - Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Hoang Long, Vietnam's permanent representative at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) attended the 109th session of the IFAD's Executive Board in Roma, Italy on September 19th, said a reporter of the Vietnam News Agency.

At this session, IFAD officially approved a USD33 million aid for Vietnam with preferential conditions to help increase incomes for poor households and mitigate climate change impacts on difficult districts in the central provinces of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh.

This is the first aid of IFAD for Vietnam in the framework of its Country Strategic Opportunities Program in the 2012-2017 period (COSOP 2012-2017) and IFAD 9.

With positive assessments on the realization of its assistance in Vietnam over the past time, IFAD will continue providing a support for Vietnam to help it maintain obtained results on poverty reduction and increase its adaptation to climate changes.
