Prominent among the delegation were Mr. Tran Xuan Vinh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Department of Organization of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Truong An Ninh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Tran Tien Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee together with representatives of departments and branches, units and localities involved.

In the solemn atmosphere, provincial leaders offered incense to the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap and spent a minute's silence in memory of the General, an eminent student of President Ho Chi Minh, the first General and Commander-in-Chief of the Vietnamese People's Army and an outstanding child of Quang Binh homeland.

* Earlier, in the evening of July 26, the Provincial Party Committe, People's Council, People's Committe and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee solemnly held a ceremony to offer incense, lay wreaths and burn candles in tribute of heroic martyrs at the Ba Doc Martyrs Cemetery on the 69th National War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2016).

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Hoang Dang Quang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoai, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee together with members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of departments and branches, unions, Dong Hoi city, Bo Trach district and more than 1,500 union members and youths in the province.

After a minute's silence in memory of heroic martyrs, the provincial leaders struck bell and offered incense at the war memorial, and burnt candles at tombs of martyrs.

This is an annual activity to express gratitude and commemorate the outstanding children who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland as well as the peaceful life and happiness of the people.
