Total number of tourists to Quang Binh strives to achieve 3.5 million in 2018
In 2017, total number of tourists to Quang Binh was estimated to reach 3.3 million, exceeded up 10% from the plan, increased by nearly 80% from the same period last year, including 80,000 international visitors, grew by nearly 109%. Tourism turnover was estimated to reach more than VND3,700 billion, rose by 64%, of which turnover from tourism activity reached over VND620 billion, went up to 54%.
In order to achieve those results, the Provincial People's Committee has focused on implementing many solutions to resume and develop tourism. Tourism connection and promotion activities have brought many practical results such as tourism promotion program and opening of new flight between Quang Binh and Chiang Mai, Dong Hoi and Cat Bi; successfully organising the national costume of Miss Grand International 2017; popularising tourism on TripAdvisor - the world's largest travel website, etc.
In addition, the province has paid attention to developing new tours such as exploring three new caves of Dai A, Over and Pygmy; exploring ethnic minority people of Van Kieu - Khe Nuoc Lanh - Van Cong Cave; learning about the culture of Arem and Ma Coong ethnic minority people and exploring Ruc Ca Roong cave; opening a new four day and three night tour to Son Doong Cave.
Besides, many accommodation establishments have been put into operation, meeting the demand for staying overnights, improving quality of services and gradually affirming the trade name of Quang Binh tourism.
In upcoming time, the province will continue improving the quality, diversifying tourism products and services; strengthening regional links, promoting international cooperation, expanding tourism markets to attract tourists; effectively exploiting the existing flights and developing new flights; striving to reach 3.5 million tourists to Quang Binh in 2018.
