According to the report of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in 2017, European tourists to Vietnam reached 1,885,670 arrivals, accounting for 14.6% of total number of international tourists to Vietnam. In the first nine months of 2018, European visitors to Vietnam reached 1,531,201 arrivals, an increase of 9.8% over the same period of 2017 and accounting for 13% of total number of foreign visitors to Vietnam.

With the great potential of tourists coming from Europe, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism organized roadshows to introduce Vietnam tourism from 26 September to 7 October in Paris (France), Madrid (Spain), Milan (Italy), and Hamburg (Germany). These are also potential markets for Quang Binh tourism with high spending, long stay, passion for nature exploration and visa exemption to Vietnam.

The event lured participation of nearly 20 businesses from Vietnam and around 100 travel agents, journalists in each country. In particular, Quang Binh was selected as a typical destination of Vietnam tourism to introduce in Milan (Italy) and Hamburg (Germany). Delegates were impressed by the majestic beauty, wonder of caves, Phong Nha - Ke Bang and worked with Quang Binh delegation to promote tourists to travel to province.

On the occasion, the delegation surveyed development models of community tourism, cultural and historical tourism, conducted market research, exchanged with ambassadors, worked with Vietnamese community in countries to popularize and promote Quang Binh tourism. At the same time, the delegation also worked with Hanoi Tourist Cooperation to promote and coordinate for the development of tourist products for European tourists to Quang Binh.
