Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tien Dung and representatives of related agencies received and worked with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs cum Vietnamese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Laos, Mr Nguyen Ba Hung and his delegation

On behalf of provincial leader, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tien Dung congratulated the Lao delegation's working visit to Quang Binh province and briefly reported about cooperation between Quang Binh and the Lao provinces.

Concretely, in recent years, the friendly relations and special cooperation between Quang Binh province and the Laos provinces have been seen in all the fields of politics, economy, national defence - security and border.

In particular, Quang Binh linked with Khammouane province along the National Road 12A via the Cha Lo - Na Phau International Border Gate and along the Road 20 via the Ca Roong - Noong Ma Border Gate. As estimated in 2016, total turnovers of goods reached US$1.8 billion; about 155,000 vehicles and 474,000 persons were transported for exit and entry via the border gates.

Besides, the province welcomed about 15-20 delegations with more than 200 officials each year from the Lao provinces to Quang Binh for visiting and working; received over 100 students to Quang Binh University for studying and provide a financial support to construct some school projects in Khammouane province with a total value of VND10 billion.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed a close and friendly relation between Vietnam and Laos; highly valued the obtained results of foreign affairs and cooperation between Quang Binh province and the Lao neighboring provinces in the past time.

In the future, Deputy Minister asked Quang Binh province to strengthen cooperation with the Vietnamese Ambassy in Laos in information exchanges, cultural programmes and other activities; boost relationships with the Lao neighboring provinces in order to promote the Vietnam - Laos special friendship.

He promised information assistance, solving difficulties in the policies to create favorable conditions for domestic enterprises in general and Quang Binh province in particular to invest and develop business in Laos.
