PPC's Vice Chairman Tran Tien Dung receives Japanese Deputy Ambassador

(Quang Binh Portal) - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People"s Committee Tran Tien Dung has recently received Mr Nagai Katsuro, the Envoy of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, Head of Economic Board, Japanese Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam to discuss on a landmine/UXO detection and clearance project in Quang Binh (MAG project).

At the reception, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stressed that Quang Binh is one of the provinces heavily contaminated by unexploded ordnance (UXO) in the country. Although the war has gone away, many heart-rending accidents still continue to happen, especially among students.

He highly evaluated the Japan's supports to Quang Binh province in solving landmine contamination during the 13 past years (2003-2016).

Vice Chairman also hoped that the Japanese Deputy Ambassador will continue to provide a financial support for MAG project in Quang Binh in the upcoming time.

Speaking at the meeting, the Japanese Deputy Ambassador evaluated that this is a humanitarian project, giving a safe life back to the Vietnamese people and promising that he will submit the province's suggestions to the Embassy of Japan on funding for the landmine/UXO detection and clearance project in Quang Binh.

Besides, the Japanese Deputy Ambassador said that Quang Binh has many favorable conditions to attract potential investors, therefore, the province need to make all efforts to call upon investment, especially investors from Japan.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee thanked the Japanese Deputy Ambassador for his concerns and assistance to Quang Binh province.

In the upcoming time, the province will have a talk with the Embassy of Japan to provide more information as well as call upon Japanese investors to Quang Binh, he said.
