32 remains of Vietnamese martyrs repatriated from Laos

(Quang Binh Website) - A burial ceremony for the remains of 32 Vietnamese volunteers and experts who lost their lives in Khammouane province (Laos) during wartime was held at the Ba Doc Martyrs' Cemetery in Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province on May 14.

The ceremony was jointly organized the Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Quang Binh province.

The remains were gathered in Khammouane province of Laos by the search team No.589 of Quang Binh Military Command during the 2013-2014 dry season with close coordination between Quang Binh province and Khammoune province (Laos).

This is the first phase in 2014 and the 35th phase Quang Binh province has received the remains of Vietnamese volunteers and experts who sacrificed their lives during the war in Laos.

At the ceremony, delegates rang the bell, laid wreath of flower, offered incense and observed a minute in tribute to war heroes who devoted their lives to Laos’ national liberation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang expressed his deep gratitude to great sacrifice of war heroes who laid down their life for the peace and happiness of Vietnam and Laos. He also sincerely thanked for sentiments and assistance of the Party, authorities and people of Khammouane province in seeking and gathering the remains of martyrs.
