Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang presided over the meeting with the technical mission from the World Bank.

With the objective to strengthen the approach of sanitation services and improve efficiency of sanitation facilities in Dong Hoi city, Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Phan Rang and Thap Cham, the coastal cities sustainable environment project is conducted from June of 2017 to December of 2022 with a total investment of USD273.6 million, of which USD58.4 million is for the Dong Hoi city sub-project.

Under the plan, the Dong Hoi city sub-project will invest in four components, including: sanitation facilities, urban connection, compensation for site clearance; technical support and institution reform.

In the past time, the World Bannk techinical mission has given a technical support and inspected the progress of implementing the coastal cities sustainable environment project in general and the Dong Hoi City sub-proejct in particular.

During the working trip in Quang Binh province, the delegation paid a visit to such some works as Ly Trach dumping ground, Duc Ninh waste treatment plant and Bac Ly area. On the basis of evaluation of efficiency of the projects, the delegation will propose methods of investment to make full use of the project's efficiency.

Concluding in the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee thanked the World Bank technical mission for their concerns and well preparation for implementing the Dong Hoi City sub-project. The province also agreed with the suggestions at the meeting such as signing of financial agreements and loan agreements, disbursement conditions, procurement procedures, compensation for site clearances, allocation of ODA capital and corresponding capital.

In addition, the province will also direct related departments and branches to effectively implement the coastal cities sustainable environment project - Dong Hoi city sub-project.
