Ministry of Defence donates VND30 million to Hero of the People's armed forces Pham Van Lai
Hero Pham Van Lai was born in Quang Chau commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province and joined the army in June 1972. In the Ho Chi Minh's campaign on April 26 1975, he directly joined in many fierce battles in front of Sai Gon gate and rolled back many attacks of the enemy. In this campaign, hero Pham Van Lai wiped out 21 enemies. With those brilliant achievements, on October 20 1976, he was awarded the title of Hero of the people's armed forces by the President.
Acting on the authority of the Ministry of Defence, Colonel Pham Hong Duong granted VND30 million to help comrade Pham Van Lai treat his fatal disease. Colonel Pham Hong Duong also hoped he would overcome difficulties to be deserving of the title "Uncle Ho's soldier".
