Award ceremony of Odon Vallet scholarship to excellent students in Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh provinces in the 2008-2009 school year
Attending the award ceremony was Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Van, President of the "Meeting Vietnam" organisation and his wife, Prof. Le Kim Ngoc, President of the Association for Support of Vietnamese Children (AEVN); Prof. Odon Vallet, a doctor of law at the Paris-based Sorbonne University, the sponsor of the scholarship programme and members of the "Meeting Vietnam" organisation. On the side of Quang Binh province, there were Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoai, Member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee; Permanent Vice-chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Dinh Minh Thu, Member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee, Vice-chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mrs. Pham Thi Bich Lua, former Vice-chairperson of the Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of province-level departments and branches together with 364 outstanding students from 34 schools in Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh provinces.

In 2009, the "Meeting Vietnam" organisation granted 364 scholarships worth 918 million VND to outstanding students in Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh provinces. Of which, Quang Binh was presented 289 scholarships worth VND714 million. Besides, the "Meeting Vietnam" organisation provided with material facilities and technical equipment to the Dong Phu Secondary School, the Quang Binh Gift School, the Dao Duy Tu High School and the Bo Trach High School No.1; gave a support of building the SOS village in Quang Binh province with a total value up to tens of billion.

On behalf of leaders of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh provinces, Permanent Vice-chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai was very pleased to inform that 100% high school students in the province who received Odon Vallet scholarships this year passed the entrance exams to universities nationwide. Vice-chairman Hoai also expressed his thanks to the donation and assistance of Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Van, Dr. Odon Vallet and the "Meeting Vietnam" organisation and recommend students to study well and become the talents for the motherland, the nation and the mankind.
