A conference to deploy the Government’s resolution on inflation curbing, macro-economic stability and guarantee of social security

(Quang Binh Website) – On March 2nd, the Provincial People’s Committee held a conference to deploy the Government’s resolution on inflation curbing, macro-economic stability and guarantee of social security. Chairman of PPC Nguyen Huu Hoai and Vice-chairmen presided over the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai said that in the first two months of 2011, the province’s socio-economic situation has remained a fair growth rate. Value of production increased by 1.1%; total retail sales of goods increased by 18.3%; the number of tourists to Quang Binh increased by 29.2%; budget revenue reached VND205 billion, of which domestic revenues were VND192.2 billion, reached 14.2% of estimate, increased by nearly 47% compared to the same period. Cultural and social fields have seen positive changes.

To achieve the targets and plan for socio-economic development in 2011 and implement the Resolution No.11/NQ-CP, dated February 24 of the Government on measures to curb inflation, stabilize macro-economy and ensure social security, the provincial People’s Committee set up Draft Action Plan with many comprehensive and specific solutions in the fields. The provincial People’s Committee entrusted the State Bank of Quang Binh to preside and coordinate with departments, agencies and localities to implement the strict and cautious monetary policy; the Department of Finance to introduce and check State overspending to seriously save 10% of public spending through reducing costs for meetings, visits, receiving guests, going abroad, electricity and water supplies; the Department of Planning and Investment to check all projects in the province to reject the ineffective projects according the Government’s regulations. Besides, the related departments and agencies need to promote production and business, encourage exports, use energy economically and implement regulations on adjusting electricity and petroleum prices combined with subsidies for poor households; and ensure social security.

At the conference, representatives of departments and agencies spent much time to discuss about specific solutions to supplement and complete the Draft Action Plan for approval and implementation in the forthcoming time.
