From March 21 to 31 2011, the IFAD supervision mission has carried out an inspection and overall evaluation on implementing the DPPR project in Quang Binh, of which focusing on the progress of implementing the project; discussing and putting forward action program in the coming time; drawing experience lessons and specific activities to ensure sustainable development of the project. During the inspection of the DPPR project in Quang Binh, the IFAD supervision mission also went on an inspection tour in seven communes of Quang Ninh, Le Thuy and Quang Trach districts.

According to the assessment of IFAD supervision mission, in 2010, the Quang Binh DPPR project speeded up the progress of implementing the project and obtained good results. The project há contributed to help people in project-enjoyed communes to increase income by developing non-agricultural professions and forms of enterprises and co-operative; improving the approach of poor households to agricultural development services, credits and natural resources such as irrigational water and production forest land. Until now, the project has reimbursed 83% of a total budget under the agreement of loans.

Delivering a speech at the working, head of Quang Binh DPPR project acknowledged suggestions of the supervision mission and committed to research and draw experience in the process of implementing the project in the next time. The comrade asked the provincial DPPR Project Management Unit (PMU) and related departments to recheck the process of project implementation, especially source of capital to build up a detailed plan in the remaining time. Besides, the PMU of DPPR should supervise and speed up districts and communes to complete the plan for reimbursement, contributing to improving effectiveness of the project. Head of Quang Binh DPPR project also requested the supervision mission to help the province submit to IFAD for the implementation of Quang Binh DPPR project for third phase.
