Poor to get free rice
Poor households in the central provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri will receive free rice from the national reserve during the period between crops, the Government has announced.
Of the 2,550 tonnes allocated, 1,300 tonnes will go to Quang Tri and the rest to Quang Binh Province.
The two provincial people's committees have been asked to distribute the rice. If the quantities earmarked prove insufficient, the people's committees will have to make a request to the Prime Minister for more.
Over the last two months, the Government has allocated 26,392 tonnes of free rice to the poor in 15 provinces.
