2.387 million USD to improve health system in Quang Binh

(Quang Binh Website) - A workshop was held on March 29 to strengthen health system of Quang Binh province to improve universal access to reproductive health and family planning of Quang Binh people, especially vulnerable people in the period of 2012-2013. Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai presided over the meeting.

The project has a total investment of USD2,387 million, of which USD1.5 million is funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and USD887,000 is from the corresponding budget of the province.

The project aims at strengthening health system of Quang Binh and reaching the target of universal access to reproductive health and family planning for people, especially vulnerable people.

The project will focus on improving management capacity on reproductive health and family planning, strengthening health information system, developing human resources and improving quality of services and information on reproductive health and family planning...

Speaking at the workshop, Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai highly appreciated the UNFPA's assistance and stressed the importance of the project to improving health system in Quang Binh. He also affirmed the province’s strong commitment to create favorable condition and assist the project in its efforts to reach the targets.

At the workshop, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai and Acting Chief Representative of UNFPA Vietnam Mandeep K. O’Brien inked a Memorandum of Understanding on implementing the project in 2013 and 2014.
