Province’s delegation pays homage to Truong Son Martyrs’ Cemetery and the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road No 9 (Quang Tri province)

(Quang Binh Portal) – In celebration of the 68th anniversary of Vietnam’s War Invalids and Martyrs" Day (27/7/1947 – 27/7/2015), in the morning of July 24, the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Tien Dung paid homage to the Truong Son Martyrs’ Cemetery and the National Martyrs" Cemetery on Road No 9 (Quang Tri province).

Ceremonies striking a bell, offering flowers and incenses and lighting candles of gratitude to war invalids and martyrs took place in the Truong Son Martyrs’ Cemetery and the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road No 9 in Quang Tri province.

This is the resting place of more than 20,000 martyrs of Vietnam and Laos who sacrificed their lives for independence and freedom of the nation and happiness of the people.

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, the delegation spent a minute's silence to express their gratitude to heroic martyrs who heroically laid down their lives for national liberation.

This is an annual acitivity of the province, expressing the national tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source” and paying homage of the Party Committee, authorities, armed forces and people of Quang Binh province to heroic martyrs, especially heroic martyrs of Quang Binh motherland, who sacrificed their lives for the revolutionary cause and national liberation.

On the same day, the delegation also visited and offered incense at the commemorative temple of martyrs at Long Dai Ferry Station in Hien Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district (Quang Binh province).
