An urgent aid of 500 tons of rice to local people hit by typhoon Doksuri
Accordingly, 200 tons of rice is given to Minh Hoa district, 100 tons to Tuyen Hoa district, 100 tons to Quang Trach district, 50 tons to Bo Trach district and 50 tons to Ba Don town.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs to chair and cooperate with the Binh Tri Thien state reserve and districts and town to timely allocate rice to local people according to the regulations.
Doksuri left at least three dead and eight injured after making landfall on the afternoon of September 15.
The typhoon also unroofed tens of thousands of houses, caused serious flooding, and knocked off thousands of electricity poles within its impact areas which ranged from Nghe An to Thua Thien-Hue provinces.
In Quang Binh, nearly 50,000 houses had their roofs blown away, more than 1,500 houses were flooded and more than 120 kilometres of transmission lines were cut off.
