Vice President visits Quang Binh following storm Doksuri
The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Provincial Party's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Dang Quang, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai and representatives of related departments and branches.
According to the report of the provincial People's Committee, the 10th deadly storm claimed two lies and injured 48. Some 95,433 houses were partially destroyed as the roofs were blown off by the strong winds; some 1,978 hectares of vegetables; 3,207 ha of annual crops; 2,069 hectares of perennial trees and 6,610 hectares of rubber trees were destroyed. Some 317,913 cattle and poultry were killed. Some 229,5 hectares of aquatic farms were damaged. Total damages were estimated at VND7,860 billion.
In order overcome consequences caused by the 10th storm, efforts will be continued to deal with the consequences of the storm. Authorities at all levels timely directed localities to check households which faced the great losses to offer assistance; repair damages and encourage people to overcome difficulties; mobilised nearly 2,500 cadres, soldiers and youth to help storm victims. Electricity and water supplies, communications services as well as schools have been temporarily restored; the people's life has been stabilized and put into operation.
Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh presents gift to Quang Binh province
Speaking at the meeting, Vice President hailed the authorities of Quang Binh province for directing efforts to minimise the losses caused by the recent tropical storm Doksuri.
She asked Quang Binh province to check storm-hit damages to help local people, especially people in difficult areas, quicly resume their life.
She believed that Quang Binh will quickly overcome difficulties caused by the storms and floods to develop economy and stabilize the life for people.
On this occasion, Vice President granted VND500 million to support Quang Binh province; the Vietnamese Women Enterprise Association supported VND100 million and the Vinamilk Company presented 55,200 glasses of milk, worth over VND300 million.
