Ho Chi Minh Red Cross Society supports gifts for disadvantaged families in Quang Binh

(Quang Binh Website) - The 34-day-long cold spell in northern Viet Nam threatened to the breeding and agricultural production as well as the progress of cultivating the Winter-spring crop.

In order to help the families overcome the heavy damages caused by the long cold spell, on Feb 22 2008, the Ho Chi Minh Red Cross Society together with the provincial Red Cross Society presented gifts (a blanket, a warm clothes for children and VND 200 thousand in cash) for the people in Tan Hoa commune (Minh Hoa district) where was hardest-hit by the last cold spell.

As part of the trip, the Ho Chi Minh Red Cross Society also provided a support of VND 20 million for Quang Trach district, VND 30 million for Tuyen Hoa district and VND 50 million for Minh Hoa district to help the hardest-hit families. Total value in this relief aid was VND 224 million.
