At the working, Permanent Vice-chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai briefly presented some basic features Quang Binh, such as geographical position, natural condition, socio-economic situation as well as potentials and strengths of the province. Regarding investment attraction, as of late June 2009, the province attracted 4 FDI projects with the total registered capital of US$57.6 million; 18 ODA projects with the total capital of about US$210 million. Vice-chairman Thuat also pointed out the province’s difficulties and gave some suggestions to create favorable conditions for Quang Binh to be able to cooperate with British enterprises in the fields of education, tourism, seafood processing and infrastructure construction.

Addressing the working, Mr. Mark Kent expressed his pleasures to receive a warm welcome of the provincial leaders and hoped that in the coming time, cooperative relation between the United Kingdom and Vietnam in general and Quang Binh in particular will achieve a new development step. He underlined that the United of Kingdom will create favorable conditions for students to approach to Chenvening Scholarship Program. Especially, the delegation will have an exchange with lecturers and students of Quang Binh University to introduce about this scholarship program. Ambassador also hoped that two sides will have cooperative relation in some fields in order to cope with the global climate change.

In this visit, the delegation will pay a visit and have a working session with the Department of Health, Quang Binh University, tradition trade village in Nhan Trach (Bo Trach), Quang Binh MAG project and Phong Nha Cave.
