A meeting to approve draft report on socio-economic situation in the first six months of 2010

(Quang Binh Website) - On the morning of June 23 2010, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to approve draft report on socio-economic situation in the first six months of 2010 and some contents to submit to the Provincial People’s Council in the next session. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai presided over the meeting.

Attending the meeting were representatives of the Provincial Standing Committee of People’s Council, and People’s Committee; departments of the Provincial People’s Council; members of the Provincial People’s Committee together with leaders of departments and branches.

In the first six months of 2010, the province's socio-economic situation had a fair growth rate. A lot of big changes have been seen in cultural and social fields. The people's life has been stabilized and improved step by step. Concretely, the GDP growth rate achieved 10.3% (same period: 9.7%); value of agro, forestry and fishery production increased by 6.4% (yearly plan: 4%, same period: 5.2%); output of winter-spring crop achieved 70.7% of the plan; value of service sector increased by 11.2% (same period:10.2%); export turnover reached USD36.3 million, reached 51.8% of the plan; budget revenue reached VND578.7 billion, up to 11.87% over the same period; rate of poor households reduced by 13.23% (yearly plan: 12%); solving jobs for 15,624 people, reached 50.21% of the plan; rate of secondary compulsory education reached 98.1%; number of communes, wards and townlets reaching national standards of health was estimated at 62.3% (yearly plan: 70.4%)…

At the meeting, the delegates spent much time to contribute their ideas to the draft report, mainly focusing on obtained results in al fields and proposed tasks, orientations and solutions for implementation of socio-economic development plan in the second months of 2010.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee ordered the Department of Planning and Investment to be open to new ideas and modify the contents of draft report and send it to the provincial People’s Committee to submit to the Provincial People’s Council in the next session.
