The master plan on socio-economic development of Quang Binh province until 2020 specifies that natural condition, natural resources, socio-economic potentials, human resource, scientific and technological advances, background and external factors make an impact on socio-economic development of the province.

The master plan evaluates situation of socio-economic development as well as advantages, restrictions, opportunities and challenges of the province until 2010.

The master plan also defines the orientation for economic structure, development of key sectors of province until 2020; list of projects which give a top priority to investment in the period of 2011-2020 and main solutions to implement the plan, of which focusing on investment attraction, investment promotion and attraction of the foreign direct investment (FDI); administrative procedure reform and resource mobilization of the economic sectors; scientific and technological application; training and improving the quality of human resources; strengthening cooperation and market expansion, i.e

General objective of the plan is to get Quang Binh out of underdeveloped situation by 2015 and basically become a developed province in the region by 2020; strive to bring Quang Binh become one of provinces which have an economy in fast and sustainable development; a developed industry and tourism service; a comprehensive infrastructure system and a high-quality system of education and training; basically improve the material, cultural and spiritual life of the people; ensure the political security, social safety and order; limit the minimum impact of natural disasters and protect ecological environment.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman stressed that the master plan exactly evaluated situation of socio-economic development of the province in the period of 2001-2010; the potentials and advantages as well as restrictions and difficulties of the province in socio-economic development.

In order to bring Quang Binh quickly become one of developed provinces in the North Central region and Central Coastal region, all of us need to try the best to fulfill the socio-economic development targets untill 2020, chairman said. He asked all agencies and localities to actively take specific measures to well implement the plan.

In order to fulfill targets of the socio-economic master plan until 2020, all levels and agencies should focus on making full use of all resources for socio-economic development, infrastructures in modern and comprehensive way; taking advantage of the support from the government, ministries and central agencies to speed up the progress of key projects; developing service sectors, paying attention to bringing tourism become a key economic sector; developing high-quality human resource to meet the demand for socio-economic development of the province; ensuring national defence and security, social safety and order; strengthening anti-corruption, i.e.
