In the period of 2005-2010, the total number of tourists to Quang Binh reached nearly 3.2 million, increased by 12.9%/year, of which international arrivals increased by 2.9 times against the 2001-2005 period. The whole province had 187 dwelling establishments with 20 1-4 star ranked hotels. Turnover from tourism activity reached VND1550 billion, paying VND109 billion to State budget.

The Provincial People's Committee approved the master plan on tourism development of Quang Binh province until 2020 and vision until 2025; the master plan on sustainable tourism development in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Region in the period of 2010-2020 and vision until 2025 in order to make a basis to implement the tourism development projects and mobilize more than VND804 billion to invest in development of infrastructures and technique for tourism sector.

In the future, Quang Binh will pay attention to development of cave tourism, cultural-historical tourism, ecological tourism, spiritual tourism and so on; diversify tourism products of locality; stabilize order, sanitation and safety in tourist sites; protect natural resource and environment for sustainable development; strengthen investment in tourism development, promote and popularize tourism, socialize and develop community-based tourism.

At the workshop, representatives of relevant agencies and enterprises presented speeches on ensuring food safety in restaurants and hotels; improving efficiency of tourism promotion; strengthening security, social safety and order; exploit value of cultural and historical heritage and business in traveling tourism.

Delegates also spent much time to contribute their ideas to the plan for organizing "Quang Binh Tourism Month 2012" within the framework of the program entitled "National tourism year for the North Central Coastal Region-Hue 2012" as well as some tourism activities in the coming time.
