Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee grants dossier of the overall plan for construction of Hon La Economic Zone through 2030 to leader of the Provincial Management Board of Economic Zones

Under the plan, Hon La economic zone has a total natural area of more than 10 thousand ha, bordering Ha Tinh province in the North, Quang Tho commune, Quang Trach district in the South, Quang Tien and Quang Chau in Quang Trach district in the West and the sea in the East.

Hon La economic zone is a general economic zone designed for various industries and fields, including industry, seaport, trade, service, tourism, urban, agriculture, forestry and fisheries. Besides, this is an economic center of Quang Binh province, with modern and synchronous urban infrastructure, which serves a driving force for investment attraction and development of other regions.

Hon La Economic Zone has three main trunk roads, namely National Road 1A, western road and coastal road. The northern part will be given priority for development, with Hon La deepwater seaport is the nucleus.

Speaking at the meeting, PPC Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai highlighted that construction of Hon La economic zone will make full use of natural advantages of seaport and its services as well as activities in sea economy, contributing to making an important breakthrough in economic development in the central coastal region in general and Quang Binh province in particular.

Chairman assigned the Provincial Management Board of Economic Zones in close coordination with relevant agencies to advise for the provincial People's Committee building up and promulgating the Regulations on planning management and urban architecture for Hon La economic zone.
