Quang Binh: discover 14 species of fish in caves
(Quang Binh Website) - According to information from the Management Board of Phong Nha - Ke Bang heritage (Quang Binh), fourteen species of rare and precious fish have been discovered in caves in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.
These fish species was founded by Vietnamese Ichthyologist Nguyen Thai Tu and his team during their recent research project on fish species.
Among 14 fish species discovered, several species are listed in the World’s Red Book and one of them, the Mo fish (Lobocheilos sp), a unique species that only lives in a cold water environment, was also found at Son Doong Cave in the park.
Phong Nha - Ke Bang is considered a huge home for Vietnam as numerous species of rare and precious flora and fauna.
