Dong Hoi City: the number of tourists reaches over 387,000

Revenues from tourism services, hotels and restaurants reached more than VND382 billion, rose 9%. In which, revenues from overnight stays reached VND 52 billion, from travel reached VND2.3 billion and from restaurants reached over VND328 billion.
In order to these results, Dong Hoi city has projected and invested in infrastructures and some tourist sites to serve visitors; encouraged organizations and individuals to build hotels, guest houses and business establishments in the projected tourist sites.
The system of historical and cultural relics as well as landscapes have been paid much attention such as the status of Mother Suot, Dong Hoi rampart and so on.
In the other hand, traditional festivals such as boat competition, Cau Ngu (fish praying) festival, "Cheo can" performance, "bong" (flower) dance... have also been restored and developed, making a strong impression on foreign and domestic tourists.
In the forthcoming time, Dong Hoi city orients to develop tourism products with the specific characters such as spiritual tourism, cultural tourism, sea tourism and trade villages; opened new routes to the revolutionary historical relics in the city; develop resorts and ecotourism areas.
