In the first seven months of 2016, despite of meeting many difficulties in hot weather and the environmental incident in four central provinces, with the drastic direction of the Provincial People's Committee, all levels and branches, the province's socio-economic development situation has seen many positive changes. Total area under cultivation for summer-autumn crop reached over 29,700 ha, an increase of 2.9% compared to the same period. Index of industrial production in July increased by 9.1%; total retail sales reached over VND1,400 billion; budget revenues in seven months reached VND1,600 billion, grew by 4.7%; national defence - security were strengthened, social security was concerned, the life of people was gradually improved, etc.

In particular, the Provincial People's Committee also timely took measures to overcome the consequences caused by the sea environmental incident to resume production; had the policies to support fishermen and enterprises according to Decision No.48/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

In the past time, the province also extracted VND25.8 billion from budget reserve fund to provide a support for enterprises, allocated over VND9.7 billion to help localities resume their production, directed the agencies and localities to evaluate the losses and damages caused by the environmental incident, speeded up implementation of Resolution No.67/ND-CP of the Government on some policies for fishery development.

At the meeting, delegates dicussed on key tasks for the remaining months of 2016 with a focus on solutions for summer-autumn crop and labor export programme; evaluation of damages to timely solve difficulties for fishermen and enterprises; measures for tourism development, services and policy for social security, etc.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee speaks at the meeting

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stressed that socio-economic situation in the first seven months of 2016 met a lot of difficulties because of the sea environmtal incidents, directly affecting to fishermen and the province's tourism industry in the following years.

In order to effectively deploy key tasks and plans in the remaining months of the year, Standing Vice Chairman asked related agencies and localities to take specific measures to stabilize the economy; timley solve difficulties, speed up development of business production and improve quality of operation of the enterprises.

Besides, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also urged the agencies, units and localities to deploy regulations on supporting fishermen after the mass fish deaths, create all favorable conditions for enterprises to resume production and business, accelerate investment promotion, especially key projects; focus on dealing with environmental pollution and rehabilitation of fishery resource; pay attention to foster human resource and prepare for opening new academic year, etc.
