On behalf of provincial leaders, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee briefly reported of the master plan on socio-economic development of Quang Binh province until 2020, including main goals and targets of the master plan, implementation process and appraisement of the master plan in the 2011-2015 period; main targets in the 2016-2020 period.

In the context and requirements for new development, Quang Binh province requested that the McKinsey International Consulting Unit will research to build the master plan on socio-economic development of Quang Binh province until 2020, vision to 2050 in accordance with the strategy on socio-economic development of the country and the master plan on socio-economic development of the North Central region and Central Coastal region.

The master plan is requested to speed up shifting economic structure, improve growth quality of the economy and strengthen regional connection; develop the industry to become a main economic sector and tourism to be a key economic sector; effectively implement the project on restructuring agricultural economy towards raising the added value and promoting sustainable development together with other important contents.

At the meeting, a representative of the McKinsey International Consulting Unit and related department and branches contributed many ideas to clarify contents and requirements of the master plan on socio-economic development of the province until 2030, vision to 2050, and thence have specific orientations for improving quality of the master plan.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee stressed that the most importance in the master plan on socio-economic development of the province until 2030, vision to 2050 is a new thought and innovation to help Quang Binh develop in a rapid and sustainable manner. Quang Binh province will create all favorable conditions in close cooperation with the consulting unit to implement construction of the master plan in the shortest time.
