At the 11th session, the District People's Council term XVII was listened to reports of the District Standing People's Council on its activities in the first six months, orientations and tasks in the second six months of 2008; report of the District People's Committee on socio-economic development in the first six months and socio-economic targets in the second six months of 2008. Concurrently, the session approved Resolutions on State budget balance in 2007, Resolution on continuously implementing tasks for socio-economic development and security-national defence in 2008 and Resolution on naming streets in Ba Don town.

According the report of the District People's Committee, in the first six months, economic situation had a fair growth rate; political security, social safety and order were stabilized; local budget receipts achieved VND 158,900 million, making up 71% of the yearly plan, increased by 10.7% compared with the same period; rate of poor households reduced from 26.9% to 24.4%; the people's life have been improved; rate of unemployment was decreased remarkably, about 2,800 laborers have been solved.

The session will spend more time for questions of delegates and answers of competent authorities and conclusion of chairman of the session on solving the petitions of voters.
