Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee works with Chairman of Kobe International Supporting Organization

 (Quang Binh Portal) - Secretary of the Provincial Party"s Committee Hoang Dang Quang on November 11th had a meeting with Mr. Yoshio Iwamura, Chairman of Kobe International Supporting Organization (KISO) from Kobe city, Hyogo province, Japan and his delegation. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Provincial People"s Council, Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Binh province and related departments and branches.


PPC Secretary of Hoang Dang Quang chaired the meeting with Mr. Yoshio Iwamura, Chairman of Kobe International Supporting Organization (KISO) from from Kobe city, Hyogo province, Japan

At the meeting, Mr. Yoshio Iwamura, Chairman of KISO said that his working visit aimed to learn about situation of disaster-caused damages for Quang Binh province. Accordingly, through the mass media, KISO will call upon the organizations, individuals and benefectors across Japan to support Quang Binh people, especially disadvantage children.

On behalf of provincial leader, Secretary Hoang Dang Quang thanked Chairman of KISO for his concerns and asistances to disadvantaged children and Quang Binh people who were heavily affected by the last floods, especially flood-orphaned children.

PPC Secretary also briefly informed of the land and people of Quang Binh, especially serious damages caused by floods in the last October with a total damage of over 2,800 billion. This damage will pull back the development of the locality for at least 5 years.

Heavy rains and floods were left 27 dead persons, 36 injuring and missing persons; inundated more than 110,000 houses and 2,414 classrooms. Many hectares of aquacultures and vegetables were damaged; thousands of cattles and poultries were swept out by floods; system of traffic across the Ho Chi Minh Highway, National Highway 12A and 1A, railway, rural roads, irrigational system and dykes were interrupted and destroyed due to the rapid increase in water level, bringing landslides and erosion. Immediately after the floods, the local authorities, functional agencies and people have actively overcomed consequences to quickly resume the life and production.

According to the latest statistics, Quang Binh province has received an urgent relief from ministries and central agencies, provinces and cities, organizations, individuals and benefectors across the country and the world with a total support of 134 billion dongs, including goods and cash.

On this occasion, Mr. Yoshio Iwamura, Chairman of KISO gave the courtesy letters from Mr. Toshizo Ido, govenor of Hyogo and Mr. Kizo Hisamoto, mayor of Kobe city to the Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee.
