Facilitate traffic of persons, vehicles and commodities via Cha Lo - Na Phau International Border Gate
The meeting was attended by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang, Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee (Vietnam); Mr. Khampheuy Keokinnaly, Standing Vice President of the Laos-Vietnam Cooperation Committee (Laos); representatives of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Central Commission for External Relations, the Government Office and others.
At the meeting, the two sides focused on discussing solutions to solve difficulties in transportation activities in the borderline via the Cha Lo - Na Phau International Border Gate such as accelerating the progress of upgrading some stretchs of roads via the Na Phau International Border Gate; building infrastructures at the Na Phau border gate, meeting the increasing demands of travel and information exchanges between the two nations; controlling the load of cargo transport from Laos to Vietnam; providing modern equipment and advanced techniques to reduce the time of customs clearance procedures at the border gates, etc.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee highly evaluated the efficiency of implementation of the Hanoi Agreement in 2017 in promoting import-export activities at the Cha Lo - Na Phau International Border Gate, making a great contribution to socio-economic development of the two provinces.
Vice Chairman hoped that the two sides would continue strengthening cooperation to uphold the operational efficiency, creating favorable conditions for persons, vehicles and commodities via the boderlines at the Cha Lo - Na Phau International Border Gate.
Besides, Standing Vice Chairman also asked the Laos-Vietnam Cooperation Committee to help the province open a new border gate at the Chut Mut - La Vin area, aiming to transport from the Laos - Thailand 2 friendly bridge via Savannakhet province to Donghoi and Hon La port, contributing to promoting economic and trade development between the two provinces of Quang Binh and Savannakhet in the forthcoming time.
