Working with a mid-term evaluation delegation to Quang Binh SRDP project

The meeting was attended by Mr Henning Pedersen, Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Vietnam and his members; representatives of the Steering Board of Quang Binh SRDP project and leaders of related agencies and localities.
According to the mid-term evaluation report of the Quang Binh SRDP project, as of October 11th 2016, the project has achieved its implementation progress as scheduled plan. Specificially, 40 communes in the project and 70 communes outside the project have carried out the market-oriented socio-economic development planning (MOSEDP); 61 community infrastructure projects have been carried out; establishning 102 groups of farmers investing in climate-smart agriculture (CSA) with 1,563 members; establishing 185 groups of savings and credits... approving 1,493 certificate of land use right including 1,870 ha; defining 8 main value chains for the poor at the provincial level, etc.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly evaluated the obtained results, especially enhancing production capacity, calculation of economic efficiency and product popularisation, contributing to improving income and reducing poverty in a sustainable and fast manner.
He also asked Quang Binh SRDP project to continuously train MOSEDP for local officials; pay attention to rural development in adaptation with climate changes; restructure the agricultural industry towards enhancing sustainable production value; create favorable conditions to develop collectives and enterprises to invest in agriculture; attach special importance to reform of administrative procedures in the fields such as tax, banking, custom, etc.
In the coming time, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee urged agencies, localities and units in collaboration with the project to quickly overcome shortcomings, striving to implement the project as scheduled progress.
