Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho An Phong has a meeting with the First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi

(Quang Binh Portal) - On the afternoon of June 22, 2022, Mr. Ho An Phong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People"s Committee chaired the meeting with Mr.Tabuchi Yuichiro, First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi. Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of relevant departments and agencies.

At the meeting, the First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi revealed that he wanted to learn about the construction and operation of e-Government in Quang Binh.

Accordingly, the representative of the Department of Information and Communications said that implementing the guidelines of the Party, policies, and laws of the State on promoting the application of information technology (IT), building e-Governing towards digital government; in the past time, Quang Binh province has identified key tasks and solutions, promoted the application of IT in the activities of State agencies and achieved a number of important results. Up to now, 3G and 4G mobile communication networks have basically provided services for nearly 100% of the population in the province; broadband internet has reached 151/151 centers of communes, wards, and towns. Quang Binh province has also constructed the provincial Intelligent Operations Center (IOC) since September 2020 and is now gradually implementing smart city softwares and services.

The People's Committee of Dong Hoi city has cooperated with Viettel Group to build an intelligent city operation center since 2021; piloted a number of smart city applications and services, including "Dong Hoi SmartCity" on mobile phones. This is a tool to help people access information services, real-time alert notifications, emergency responses; reflect outstanding issues; look up traffic violations, tourist information...

After listening to a report on the current state of e-Government construction and operation in the province, the First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi highly appreciated the achieved results of Quang Binh province during the process of construction and e-Government operation, especially infrastructure systems, platforms, applications, and databases. The First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi also shared some experiences in developing Japan's e-Government and Digital Government with Quang Binh province and suggested some solutions for the province to continue developing this field in the coming future.
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the provincial leaders, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee thanked the First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi for his attention and working session with the province. He highly appreciated the Japanese Government's interest in supporting Quang Binh in implementing many projects, making an important contribution to socio-economic development, hunger eradication, and poverty alleviation in the locality.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also emphasized that over the past time, Quang Binh has paid great attention to and invested in the implementation of e-Government; however, in the process of implementation, the province has faced many difficulties due to limited resources. Therefore, he hopes that the Japanese Government, especially the First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi in charge of this field, will support and cooperate to help the province successfully build e-Government towards the local digital government.
