Embellish the tomb and temple of royal mandarin Nguyen Huu Canh

(Quang Binh Website) - According to the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, the province has decided to invest VND115 billion (US$5.5 million) to upgrade and restore the tomb and the worshipping house of royal mandarin Nguyen Huu Canh. with the cost of over VND9 billion (a total expenditure for the project is VND115 billion).
Accordingly, royal mandarin Nguyen Huu Canh's tomb in Truong Thuy commune (Le Thuy district) will be expanded 4.9 ha for building a lotus pond, a tone bridge, a pine hill, a parking-lot, fruit garden and green park. The temple in Van Ninh commune (Quang Ninh district) with a total area of 13 ha will be also built a new 300-sqm shrine, commemorating the mandarin and a 3m high bronze statue of the General at his worshipping house.

Nguyen Huu Canh (1650-1700) was a famous army commander who was credited for expanding territories to the south and establishing the administrative management for the southern region at the end of the 17th century.
