May’s CPI grew by 0.22%

(Quang Binh Portal) – The province’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in May 2015 rose 0.22% from the previous month and up 0.37% from December 2014. Average CPI in five beginning months of the year went up by 1.26% from compared with the figures in 2014’s identical period. This is the highest price growth in the past five months, according to the Department of Statistics of Quang Binh provincce.

Of 11 groups of goods and services, 5 groups had the highest price growth compared to last month. Concretely, housing, electricity, water, fuel and constructional materials had the highest price growth of 1.21%; transport went up by 1.06%; garments, hats and footgear by 0.57%; culture, entertainment and tourism by 0.9%; other groups of goods and services by 0.2%.

Five groups of goods and services had a stable price growth from the previous month, including drinks and tobacco, family appliances, medicines and health services, postal and communicational service and education.

Meanwhile, the group of food and catering service had CPI lower than the general growth rate with a decrease of 0.13%. Concretely, grain food reduced by 0.52% and foodstuff by 0.09% from the previous month.
