IFAD delegation supervises SRDP project in Quang Binh
The meeting was attended by Mr. Henning Pedersen, IFAD's Country Programme Manager; representatives of SRDP in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh and other members.
The goal of the SRDP Project in Quang Binh and Ha Tinh is to sustainably improve income and reduce vulnerability of rural poor households in targeted Ha Tinh and Quang Binh upland communes.
With the total costs of an estimation of USD 46.2 million (VND 1 trillion), the project has been carried out in 40 communes of 6 districts in Quang Binh province and 50 communes of 10 districts in Ha Tinh province.
So far, the project implementation progress has highly evaluated both in three components, including: market-led development planning, rural financial services, and market and value chain investments.
Most of activities of the project have achieved the expected results and oriented to the targeted beneficiaries of the project, including poor households, women and ethnic minorities.
As of August 31, 2015, total reimbursed capital in Ha Tinh was US$ 4.396 million/US$22.995 million and in Quang Binh was US$ 2.546 million/US$ 22.761 million from the total expense of the project.
At the meeting, participation discussed and shared experience in the project implementation process in localities, aiming at improving the quality of activities.
Speaking at the meeting, Head of the Steering Committee for SRDP in Quang Binh province acknowledged the mistakes of the province in the project implementation process and directed related units and localities to speed up the project implementation progress as well as capital reimbursement.
