The Provincial People's Committee held its regular meeting for September 2019

In the third quarter of 2019, although tasks of socio-economic development were carried in difficult conditions, especially natural disasters and epidemics affecting people's lives and production; the province's socio-economic situation in the third quarter and the first 9 months of 2019 continued to be stable.

Particularly, the urban planning and management had many changes. In the third quarter, 15 detailed planning projects and 15 planning tasks were approved. In agriculture, the aquatic products grew quite well in both catching and aquaculture, the output of aquatic products were estimated at over 66,300 tons in 9 months of the year, up 7% over the same period. Industry grew quite well with the production value of 9 months was estimated at VND 8,900 billion, an increase of 7.6% compared to the same period. Tourism promotion and advertising were strengthened; therefore, in the first 9 months, the total number of tourists to Quang Binh was estimated at 4.09 million arrivals, up 27.8% over the same period. At the end of September, the total budget revenue in the province was VND 3,230 billion, up 36.8% over the same period. In addition, Quang Binh successfully organized investment promotion activities in Finland and the Federal Republic of Germany.

However, the report showed that in the third quarter and the first 9 months of the year, the province's agricultural production faced many difficulties. Industry and construction grew unevenly. Some targets were still low, many key projects were still behind schedule, and the security contained many complicated factors. Therefore, the session focused on discussing the difficulties and limitations, especially in some groups of low socio-economic targets to find solutions to implement effectively in the remaining months of 2019.

Concluding the session, Mr. Tran Cong Thuat, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, recognized the results of task performance in the province's fields in the past 9 months. He also emphasized some weaknesses and shortcomings; simultaneously assigned specific tasks to departments, sectors and localities about some key contents need to be performed in the coming time.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also suggested the related departments and sectors advise to drastically deploy e-government building. Dong Hoi city People's Committee and Quang Trach district need to coordinate with related units to speed up the land clearance of key projects being implemented in the area. The police and military forces should have a thorough grasp of the situation, detect and prevent acts of disturbing security and order, especially in religious areas and areas where are being implementing projects related to land clearance and compensation.
