Minh Hoa district: promote fishery cultivation development
(Quang Binh Website) - According to report of Minh Hoa district, the total fishery output in the first 9 months of 2008 achieved 70,75 tons, equal to 143.7% compared with the same period, of which 33.55 tons from fishery cultivation and 37.2 tons from natural exploitation.
Some communes have strongly developed fish cultivation movement, such as Tan Hoa, Minh Hoa, Hoa Hop and Hong Hoa. Many households achieved income from VND15 to 20 million. Besides, some households have also invested in building ponds to raise eels, frogs, snake-head... In order to contribute to encouraging and developing fishery cultivation movement, Minh Hoa district coordinated with the Provincial Aquaculture Center to support 11 pilot models of fish with the total number of 30,000 fishes, contributing to increase income for the people.
